National Stadium Karachi Host Two PSL 2018 Cricket Matches Update: Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a men’s professional T20 cricket league, sanctioned by the Pakistan Cricket Board, that represents the sport’s highest level in Pakistan.
The league was founded in Lahore on 8 September 2015. Instead of operating as an association of independently owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors.
The PSL season runs through the month of February, with each team playing 10 matches in double round robin format; the top 4 teams with the best record qualify for the Playoffs and culminates in the championship game, the PSL Cup Final.
The league’s head offices are directed out of the Pakistan Cricket Board head office in Lahore.
The 3rd season of the Pakistan Super League will launch on February 9 in Dubai. Matches will be performed in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi apart from Dubai with the PSL 2018 final to be played in Lahore subjected to security approvals. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided that National Stadium Karachi Host Two PSL 2018 Cricket Matches , Dawn News reported on Tuesday the 17th October 2017.
A senior PCB officials told Dawn News that the PCB is planning to host at least four fixtures of the PSL 2018 in Pakistan. National Stadium Karachi Host Two PSL 2018 Cricket Matches
PCB Official said:
“Two of the matches will be held in Karachi whereas two others, including the final, will be held in Lahore.”
The PCB Official added that PCB’s Chairman Najam Sethi is set to meet the main stakeholders in the Karachi city on Wednesday 19th October 2017 to formally discuss and plan the arrangements for National Stadium Karachi Host Two PSL 2018 Cricket Matches .
Najam confirmed that he would be meeting Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday morning to discuss organising the matches in the metropolis.
Najam Sethi will also take up the issue of security and coordination among the law enforcement agencies for the next PSL season.
Meanwhile, the renovation and facelift work of Karachi’s national stadium is also set to commence in an attempt to make stadium ready for these matches.
The players’ draft will be held on November 10th 2017, in Lahore.
Initially, the players’ draft scheduled for October due to the T20 Global League which was to be held in November — but was later postponed.
PCB officials are hopeful that PSL games in Karachi will host doors of international Cricket to Karachi as well.
