Pakistan-born American gamer, Sumail Hasan is the third highest earning eSports Player globally, with earnings of $2,401,560. Aged just 17, Sumail holds the Guinness World Record for being the youngest eSports Player to surpass $1 million in tournament winnings.

eSports Player Sumail started playing Dota 2 when he was only seven years old. The talented child moved to United States in 2014 to pursue his passion of becoming a professional eSports player. He went on to make history a year later by becoming the youngest gamer to surpass the $1 million mark in tournament winnings after helping his team, ‘Evil Geniuses’, win the 2015 Dota 2 Asian championship.

Known as ‘Suma1L’ in the gaming world, the 17-year-old also made it to Time magazine’s most important teenagers in 2016 along with Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai.

On February 9, 2015, ‘Suma1L’ reached the $100,000 mark after winning the $256,831.60 cash prize for finishing first at the Dota 2 Asia Championship in 2015.

eSports Player Sumail is also believed to be the best solo player in the Dota 2 gaming realm. Sumail’s fame has grown over the years and he now has a fan following of 30,000 on Twitter and also hosts his own live-streamed games.

UNiVeRsE, who was really impressed with Sumail’s ability and pushed for EG to recruit him in January 2015. Following TI6, Sumail was rumoured to have departed from EG, but a few days later they announced that he had indeed re-signed.

Despite his rising profile, the child prodigy still puts family first. He recently used some of his prize money to buy a house for his parents and five siblings in the US.
